Day by Dice
university project

As a group project, we were asked to create a campaign against the gig economy. We devised a game made up of five rounds where we asked people to predict whether the number a dice would roll to would be odd or even; they would only progress to the next round if they guessed correctly. The dice would decide if they won or lost the game. This was a metaphor for the unpredictability of working in gig economy jobs such as delivering food through Deliveroo or being a taxi driver through Uber.

Each round was based on a real scenario, e.g. bad weather, injury, or dangerous customers, and was represented by a looping animation. My role was to animate illustrations in After Effects - I really enjoyed myself and learned a lot during the process. It's something I would love to revisit in the future despite my passion for frame by frame animation.
